Zacapa School Aid, Inc. was founded in 2016. We are an approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our goal is to assist both children and schools in the Zacapa region of Guatemala.
Currently, we are concentrating our efforts on the Elementary School in Usumatlán, which has 355 registered students in a building constructed for just 150. We work in collaboration with the Principal, Ingrid Eveyda Enriquez Rojas, to make the best use of the funds we've collected, and to improve the facilities and quality of education her students receive. During this time of Covid-19 they are especially in need, as this virus is devastating small communities in Guatemala. We recently supplied the students with masks and school supplies for working from home. We also purchased a laptop and printer so that the teachers could more easily create packets for the children to work on at home.
